Upstate NY Shootings

A standoff with a shooting rampage suspect has ended in Upstate New York with a deadly shootout.

FOX News Radio's Courtney Kealy reports from New York City:

The gunman, Kurt Meyers, has been shot and killed by police, ending the overnight standoff.  He was hiding in a basement and was found by FBI dogs.  After he shot a K-9 dog, police returned fire.

(Resident) "It's scary.  This is a small town, this stuff shouldn't happen around here.  It really shouldn't."

Upstate NY Shootings

Meyers, described as a white-bearded 62-year-old odd loner, shocked and scared the two small towns with his rampage that started at a barber shop.  He shot and killed four people and critically wounded two others in Herkimer and nearby Mohawk, about 170 miles from New York City.
