Victims and family members of victims often attend court hearings for the Colorado movie massacre suspect, but some in attendance today were there in support of the alleged shooter.
FOX News Radio's Jessica Rosenthal has more from Centennial, Colorado:
Among the victims and their family members in attendance was Marcus Weaver, who was shot and whose friend was killed in the movie theater. He says he's glad that even though attorneys for James Holmes were not ready to plead, the judge decided, enough time has passed and entered a not guilty plea for him.
(Weaver) "And I think the overall consensus for everyone that if he does try to plead not guilty, then I feel that the death penalty should be seeked."
But Jessica Brazil who has a Facebook page in support of Holmes said she was surprised the judge entered the plea.
(Brazil) "I think the mental health system failed him. I do think that as a society that we failed him too. So I believe that he is a victim as well."
Holmes' attorneys can amend the plea to not guilty by reason of insanity at a later time.
