During U.S. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel's visit to Afghanistan, Afghan President Hamid Karzai made comments, accusing the Taliban and the U.S. of conspiring together to convince Afghans that violence will worsen if allied forces leave the troubled nation.
FOX News Radio's Jeff Monosso reports:
President Karzai said two deadly suicide bombings over the weekend were carried out by the Taliban and the U.S. government who Karzai says is using terror attacks to preview how things will turn.
(Karzai Translator) "They are trying to frighten us into thinking that if foreigners were not in Afghanistan, we would be facing these sorts of incidents."
Karzai is known for making incendiary comments to appeal to Taliban sympathizers to gain leverage when he feels threatened.
One U.S. official says allied forces have spilled too much blood to ever think that violence and instability would be to America's advantage.
