Joe Biden

As the Obama administration pushes the idea of tighter gun restrictions in the aftermath of the Newtown school attack, a somewhat different philosophy from the Vice President.

FOX News Radio's Hank Weinbloom reports in our special series "Guns In America":

Guns In America.

Consumer advice from Vice President Joe Biden...

(Biden) "Buy a shotgun."

Speaking to a Facebook town hall meeting, the Vice President said a shotgun is a better choice for protecting your home than a semi-automatic weapon.

(Biden) "You don't need 30 rounds to protect yourself."

Biden says he has two shotguns at home and told his wife if there's ever a problem...

(Biden) "Put that double barrel shotgun and fire two blasts outside the house. I promise you whoever's coming in is not going... you don't need an AR-15."

On Thursday, the Vice President will be at a conference on ways to prevent gun violence just outside Newtown, Connecticut.
