Iranian-American Pastor Sentenced in Iran

A notorious Iranian judge has sentenced an Iranian-American Christian pastor to eight years in prison.

FOX News Radio’s Kerin McCue has the latest details:

Saeed Abedini was born in Iran, but now lives in Idaho.  He’s been locked up in Iran’s notorious Evin Prison since September, his alleged crime: Evangelizing.  The married father of two denies the claim.  Judge Pir-Abassi, known as Iran’s “Hanging Judge,” sentenced Abedini to eight years behind bars.

(Sekulow) “Eight years is kind of a number they throw out.  If you’re barely making it after four months, eight years without seeing your kids, eight years without seeing your wife…this sentence today is outrageous.”

…Jordan Sekulow, Executive Director for the American Center for Law & Justice.  On Friday, a White House spokesman condemned Iran’s continued violation of the universal right of Freedom of Religion and called for Abedini’s release.
