Millions of people watched Beyonce belt out a flawless rendition of the national anthem, but it turns out she was reported to be lip-syncing to a pre-recorded version - one she had the opportunity to get perfect before anyone heard it.

A spokesperson for the Marine Band has confirmed that listeners heard a version of the song Beyonce had recorded at a Marine Corps studio in Washington on Sunday night.  The spokesperson says, at the last minute, Beyonce and the band received orders to use a recorded version of the national anthem instead of performing it live, but it's unclear why.
