Batmobile Fetches $4.2 Million in Auction

Holy bidding, Batman!  A TV car that many kids have dreamed about one day driving has been sold for a hefty price.

FOX News Radio’s Steve Rappoport reports:

It was the original cruiser of the Caped Crusader.

(“Batman”) “To the Batmobile!” // “Let’s go!”

The Batmobile fetching more than $4 million at a classic car auction in Arizona.  The vehicle from the 1960’s TV show was adapted from a bubble-windowed concept car known as the Lincoln Futura.  It features a 500hp engine, a Batphone and a dashboard full of switches for imaginary Batgadgets like oil slicks, ejection seats and rockets.

A Batmobile replica sold at auction in 2007 for $233,000.
