“Diff’rent Strokes” Actor Conrad Bain Dies at 89 [VIDEO]

Conrad Bain, who became a paternal figure to many Americans after his role on a hit 80’s sitcom, has died.

FOX News Radio’s Sabrina Sabbagh reports:

(“Diff’rent Strokes” Theme) “But they got Diff’rent Strokes, it takes…”

Conrad Bain rose to fame playing father figure Phillip Drummond on “Diff’rent Strokes.”

(“Diff’rent Strokes”) “I take pleasure in presenting to you, for the first time anywhere, the renowned magician Arnoldi the Great!”

Bain starred opposite Gary Coleman and Todd Bridges on the iconic ’80’s series.  Before he landed the “Diff’rent Strokes” role, Bain acted on Broadway with a role in “The Iceman Cometh,” in films including Woody Allen’s “Bananas” and on the sitcom “Maude.”

The actor would have turned 90 next month.
