4 CA Men Charged for Plotting Terror Against U.S.
Four men from southern California have been formally charged with plotting to join the war on terror, but not for the U.S.
FOX News Radio’s Jessica Rosenthal reports from Los Angeles:
Three men were arrested here; the ringleader of the alleged plot was already in Afghanistan, where he was arrested. FBI Special Agent in Charge of the Counterterrorism Division in L.A., David Bowdich, says their goal was to attack Americans overseas.
(Bowdich) “They discussed wanting to join the Taliban, or ‘the students,’ and then ultimately graduating to joining al-Qaeda, who they referred to as ‘the professors.'”
The ringleader, whose name is Sohiel Kabir, served in the U.S. Air Force from July of 2000 until December of 2001, when he was honorably discharged.
