FAA Proposes Fine Against Airline For Skipping Inspection

A major U.S. air carrier is facing a pretty major fine from the government for violating Federal regulations.

FOX News Radio’s Chris Hoenig has details:

The Federal Aviation Administration is proposing a fine of more than $350,000 against US Airways, alleging the airline flew one of its Boeing 757s without proper inspection.

(US Airways Commercial) “We’ll take you from hometowns and big cities to exotic, tropical escapes.”

The FAA saying US Airways replaced a leaking fuel pump on the aircraft in August of 2010, then flew it on 916 flights over the next 4 months without the required tests and inspections.

The airline, in a statement to FOX News Radio, says they are working with the FAA and believe the flights were flown in compliance with the rules.
