Housecall for Health: Green Tea Preventing Cancer
People believe in all sorts of health benefits from green tea. For most, it’s been just speculation, but researchers are putting some of that speculation to rest.
FOX’s Colleen Cappon has what they’ve found in today’s “Housecall for Health”:
Doctors have speculated about the anti-cancer benefits of green tea for years, but now new research breaks down just how green tea can prevent cancer on a cellular level. A team at Columbia University Medical Center finds chemicals in the drink inhibit two specific proteins that promote tumor cell growth and migration.
The chemicals appear to be especially successful in helping stop the growth of breast and prostate tumors.
