U.S. & Israel Pair for Missile Defense Exercise

Israel and the United States are getting ready to begin a three-week-long missile defense exercise. It’s the largest ever military drill between the two countries.

FOX News Radio’s Emily Wither has the details from Jerusalem:

The American planner says the drill is a testament to the strength in military ties between the U.S. and Israel.  And although it’s been in the planning for two years, it does come at a time when tension between Israel and Iran is at its highest.  Planners are quick to point out it’s not directed at a specific threat, but Israeli Brigadier General Nitzan Nuriel says it’ll send a strong message.

(Brig. Gen. Nuriel) “I’m sure that results of the exercise will show that, together, we can achieve more, and everybody can take any lessons he wants.”

They’ll be preparing for the possibility of rockets, mortar rounds and short- and long-range ballistic missiles fired from multiple fronts.
