The biggest earthquake drill in U.S. history took place Thursday morning from coast-to-coast, including the nation’s capital.

FOX News Radio’s Rich Johnson experienced one first-hand and has this report from Washington:

The message about what to do in an earthquake, reinforced to some very young school kids by Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano.

(Napolitano) “Ready? First step: drop.  Second step: cover.  Third step: hold on.  Alright, good.”

And minutes later, a chance to use that knowledge.

(Drill) “Oh, alright.  You know what to do!”

And they did, grabbing each other under their tables.  Organizers of the Great Shake Out estimate some 14 million people did the same from California to Canada.
