Our women in uniform fall into a higher risk category when it comes to developing breast cancer.

With the start of breast cancer awareness month, researchers say it’s crucial for women in the U.S. military to pay attention to breast health. Doctors at the CDC say our women in uniform have a 20 to 40% higher risk of developing the disease. The reason may be heavy involvement in industrial jobs that expose them to more chemicals than civilians. Experts recommend military veterans stay diligent about breast cancer screening.
