Man Arrested in Chicago Car Bomb Plot

Authorities in Chicago have arrested a man they say planted what he thought was a live car bomb outside a downtown bar.

FOX News Radio’s Steve Knight reports:

The FBI says it zeroed in on the suspect, 18-year-old Adel Daoud – who’s an American citizen – in May.  Agents say he posted online messages expressing an interest in engaging in violent jihad in the U.S. or abroad and killing Americans.  Prosecutors say that after he was introduced to an undercover FBI agent posing as a terrorist, Daoud identified 29 potential targets.

Friday evening, an agent drove Daoud to an SUV that was rigged with a fake bomb.  He allegedly drove to the bar, parked, walked a block away and tried to blow up the device – all with an FBI agent watching.
