Obama Tops Romney In August Fundraising

For the first time in four months, President Obama and the Democrats have out-raised Mitt Romney and the Republicans.

FOX News Radio’s Rich Johnson reports from Washington:

The Obama campaign and the Democratic party raised a combined total of $114 million  last month, while the Romney campaign and Republicans raised $111 million.

Obama campaign officials say they recieved donations from 1.1 million people, including nearly 320,000 who had never donated to the campaign before.

It’s the fourth straight month that the Romney camp has topped $100 million, and it has more money in reserve for the general election campaign.
