Isaac has been downgraded to a tropical depression by the National Hurricane Center, but it is still bringing strong winds and dumping massive amounts of rain over areas of the Gulf Coast.
FOX News Radio's Jeff Monosso reports from New Orleans, Louisiana:
Isaac is now responsible for two deaths in the US: one in Louisiana, another in Mississippi. And emergency officials along the Gulf Coast are still urging people to stay inside. Bands of Isaac still kicking up heavy rains, tornado warnings issued for southeastern Mississippi. Meantime, damage control has also begun.
(Burgess) "In my 27 years, I have never seen water this high in these places that you never see water."
Tangipahoa Parish President Gordon Burgess. Same being said throughout southeastern Louisiana where we've seen major flooding and New Orleans flood protection system though, worked very well.
