TSA Moves to Fire Screeners for Slacking on the Job
Some airport security screeners are finding themselves under scrutiny – and possibly losing their jobs – for letting their job performance slide as they used their cellphones.

The jobs of six screeners at Boston’s Logan International Airport, in jeopardy after the Transportation Security Administration moves to fire them, saying they performed inadequate luggage checks because they were distracted by their cellphones or other devices. Fourteen others face suspension for inattention to duty.
The lapses, discovered during a routine audit of officers monitoring bags passing through explosive detection machines. The TSA, telling the Boston Globe that no dangerous materials got through.
