FDA Recalls Cantaloupes From Chamberlain Farms

The FDA launches a formal recall of contaminated melons.

FOX News Radio’s Sal Giangrasso reports:

Chamberlain Farms of Owensville, Indiana could be one source of the multi-state salmonella outbreak linked to cantaloupe. And the Food and Drug Administration is launching a formal recall of the melons.

178 people are infected in 21 states, two people died and 62 have been hospitalized, according the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Chamberlain Farms earlier had agreed to withdraw its cantaloupe from distribution, but the FDA says the formal recall will help that effort and boost awareness.
