It's not just the question of who, but when? Mitt Romney has yet to name his running mate, and it seems each day brings new rumors of who it will be and when it will be announced.
FOX News Radio's Jared Halpern says that may not be a coincidence:
Mitt Romney's not giving anything away yet, and he's not behind schedule selecting a running mate. Since the 2000 election, just one V.P. pick was announced more than one week out from that party's convention - John Kerry's running mate, John Edwards.
(Sabato) "The closer you come to the convention, the more excitement would be built into the convention and maybe you get larger audiences."
On the other hand, University of Virginia Political Scientist Larry Sabato says there's an advantage for Romney if he makes the pick sooner rather than later.
(Sabato) "A person to send around the country to do events simultaneously with yours, you know. You can be in New York and California at the same time."
The Republican convention starts August 27th.
