A gruesome discovery in a California town: over 100 dead kittens and over 50 sick cats.

FOX News Radio’s Sal Giangrasso reports:

113 dead kittens in an apartment believed to belong to a cat hoarder in the Monterey County community of Seaside.

(Brookhouser) “These kittens did not have to die. It’s really tragic that it got this far, but this didn’t happen overnight.”

Besides the dead kittens, investigators found 51 cats locked in rooms in the suspected hoarder’s nearby house.

Those cats were alive, but sick and neglected.

(Brookhouser) “We’re just doing all we can to help these cats and find justice for the 113 kittens that we weren’t able to save.”

Beth Brookhouser, of the Monterey County SPCA.

Editor’s Note: Authorities say some of the cats may have been local pets taken off the street.
