Iconic hairstylist Vidal Sassoon has died. He was known as a pioneer of his industry, making wash-and-wear haircuts popular. He also created a line of styling products bearing his name.

Vidal Sassoon is a name just about everyone associates with hair care. He started in the industry when he was just 14 years-old and opened his first salon in London in 1954. (film audio) Sassoon was even the subject of a documentary that aired in 2010. (film audio) Eventually he moved to Los Angeles and even briefly had his own television talk show. Sassoon was married four times and was surrounded by his current wife and family when he died at his home. He was 84.
