DOJ Conducting Independent Investigation of Trayvon Martin Case

Reassurance from the Justice Department, that it is still reviewing the Trayvon Martin case in Florida.

FOX News Radio’s Jared Halpern reports from Washington:

The special prosecutor promises to announce whether gunman George Zimmerman will face charges for that February shooting by the end of this week.

But, here in Washington, Attorney General Eric Holder says the Feds will be conducting a seperate investigation.

(Holder) “If we find evidence of a potential, federal, criminal civil rights crime. We will take appropriate action.”

But Holder also promises at every step, investigators will follow the facts and the law. Holder would not say what the investigation has uncovered so far.
