AEHQ: Santorum Suspends Campaign

The GOP Presidential race just got smaller, as Rick Santorum announced Tuesday that he’s bowing out of the race for the White House.

FOX News Radio’s Jeff Monosso & Jared Halpern have more in this election update:

From America’s Election Headquarters…

Rick Santorum began his Presidential bid last June, banking on Iowa.

(Santorum) “Game on.”

He’d go on to win in the Hawkeye State – and 10 other contests – but it wasn’t enough, and in his home state of Pennsylvania yesterday, surrounded by family, it was “game over” for Rick Santorum.

(Santorum) “We will suspend our campaign, effective today.  We are not done fighting.”

…Fighting, Santorum says, to defeat President Obama in November.

Santorum’s one-time Republican rivals, all congratulating the former Senator for a race well run.

(Romney) “He has made an important contribution to the political process.”

But front-runner Mitt Romney may not see the field shrink soon – Newt Gingrich telling the Mike Huckabee radio show…

(Gingrich) “We have an idea advantage, and I think we have a length-of-commitment advantage.”

And Texas Congressman Ron Paul, also signaling he’s staying in the race, calling himself “the last and real conservative alternative” to Romney.
