Teen Pregnancy Rate At 70 Year Low
Fewer kids are having kids. The U.S. teen birth rate is at a 70-year low, falling in almost every state in 2010.
FOX News Radio’s Courtney Kealy reports:
The rate for teenage moms in 2010 has reached it lowest level since record keeping began in 1940, but they still remain the highest for any developed country.
The authors of the report released by the National Center for Health Statistics say the declines are the results of pregnancy prevention efforts.
Mississippi had the highest rate with 55 teen births per 1,000 girls and New Hampshire had the lowest rate at 15 per 1,000. The overall teen pregnancy rate has dropped by 44% since 1991.
