Rick Santorum Suspends GOP Presidential Campaign [VIDEO]

Rick Santorum is suspending his campaign in the GOP presidential race. Santorum’s campaign launched on June 6, 2011; it lasted 309 days. Santorum won a total of 11 states during his run for the Republican nomination including Iowa, Missouri, Minnesota, Colorado, Tennessee, Oklahoma, North Dakota, Kansas, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana.

Mitt Romney released the following statement regarding Rick Santorum’s announcement:

“Senator Santorum is an able and worthy competitor, and I congratulate him on the campaign he ran. He has proven himself to be an important voice in our party and in the nation.  We both recognize that what is most important is putting the failures of the last three years behind us and setting America back on the path to prosperity.”
