WY Man Auctioning Off Entire Town

UPDATE: Buford, WY was sold at auction for $900,000 to an unnamed Vietnamese buyer.

How would you like to buy a town—an ENTIRE town?  One is for sale today.

FOX News Radio’s Hank Weinbloom reports:

    Buford, Wyoming.  Population: one.

(Sammons) “Well, I moved to Buford in 1980.”

He’s the entire population.  Don Sammons, the owner, and the mayor:

(Sammons) “I can walk to work.”

But Sammons has decided to retire and sell.

(Bates) “We’re going to be auctioning all of what resides in the zip code of Buford, Wyoming.”

Amy Bates, with the real estate company, says there’s a lot of buyer interest.

(Bates) “For the romantic nature of the idea of owning your own town.”

In Buford, you can have 10 acres of land, one home, a trading post, an old schoolhouse, a garage and a toolshed.
