Budget Bust-Up: Battle Brews Over Federal Budget on Capitol Hill
A “new” battle is brewing on Capitol Hill over a new budget. It’s a battle that’s been seen before, as the clock ticks since the last federal budget approved in Washington.
FOX News Radio’s Jeff Monosso reports:
The budget plan approved by House Republicans makes deep cuts to spending and lowers tax rates, but top Democrat on the House Budget Committee, Chris Van Hollen says…
(Van Hollen) “The Republican plan doesn’t ask for one penny, not one penny from the wealthiest for the purpose of deficit reduction.”
While Chairman of the House Budget Committee, Republican Paul Ryan also tells ABC’s “This Week” the budget cuts trillions from the deficit and says…
(Ryan) “The Senate’s not even passing a budget. We have the most predictable economic crisis coming in American – a debt crisis – and we’re doing something about it.”
Senate Democrats are threatening to block it. We haven’t had a federal budget passed in Washington in over three years.
