Mega Millions Reaches Record Jackpot

UPDATE: According to the Mega Millions website, the jackpot is now at an estimated $500 million.

The Mega Millions jackpot is climbing higher. The multi-state lottery game now has a record breaking jackpot for Friday’s drawing.

FOX News Radio’s Ron Flatter reports:

A lot of people took their chances.

(Ticket Buyers) “There’s the winner.” “I’ve got the winning ticket.”

They bought tickets near Cleveland for the Mega Millions jackpot, which climbed to $363 million dollars.

(Mega Millions Drawing) “And tonight’s winning numbers 19, 44, 34, 9, 51 and the gold mega ball is 24.”

Forty-seven tickets had five of the six and are worth at least a quarter-million apiece, but no ticket had all six numbers.

So Friday’s jackpot will be $476 million. That’s a record for the lottery played in most U.S. states.

The old record was in 2007 when two winners in New Jersey and Georgia divided $390 million.
