Securing America: Presidential Hopefuls on Afghanistan
The leading Republican Presidential candidates are weighing in on the U.S. military presence in Afghanistan, as the soldier accused of shooting and killing 16 Afghans is back on U.S. soil.
FOX News Radio’s Jeff Monosso has more in our ongoing series on national security:
Rick Santorum tells ABC’s “This Week” he agrees with rival Newt Gingrich that a commitment to winning in Afghanistan means staying until the job is done.
(Santorum) “Let’s either commit to winning, or let’s get out.”
Mitt Romney says he’d work with the Afghan government to come up with a resolution.
(Romney) “I would speak with President Karzai regularly, day-to-day. We have troops in harms way.”
President Obama and Afghan President Hamid Karzai reaffirmed last week their commitment to the current plan to transition security responsibilities to Afghanistan by the end of 2014.
