Anna Gristina, a mother of four who lives in Monroe, New York and allegedly ran a high end prostition ring out of an apartment on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, remains in jail after being unable to post the $2 million bail ordered by a manhattan judge on Tuesday. Gristina has pleaded not guilty. Her next court appearance is scheduled for May 3rd.
FOX News Radio’s Courtney Kealy reports from New York:
The judge refused to reduce the bail, prosecutors arguing Anna Gristina is a flight risk.
She allegedly ran a $10 million cash business with over 50 prostitutes who earned up to $2,000 an hour and $25,000 for a weekend.
Gristina’s representatives claim she was trying to establish an online dating service.
(Rep) “She had some legitimate business interest she has legitimate clients, had nothing to do with the sex trade. And they’re trying to throw everything in to muddy up the waters.”
An alleged partner in crime , 30-year-old Jaynie Baker, has also been indicted but not arrested.
