Continental, United Merger Could Mean Big Weekend Travel Delays

Continental Airlines took off for the last time Friday, as it merges with United over the weekend.

FOX News Radio’s Jared Halpern has details:

At one point in it’s history, Continental Airlines was the nation’s biggest. But a merger, now two-years in the making, will ground the Continental name.

United and Continental merged in 2010, unnoticed by most passengers. But tomorrow the two airlines combine passenger reservation data, and tickets will be issued only by United.

Aviation experts warn the switch could mean big delays this weekend.

Five years ago, US Air and America West merged. The system went haywire. Hundred of check-in kiosks didn’t work, delaying flights for days.
