A police chase has a deadly conclusion in southern California. A man suspected of carjacking led police on a chase that ended in gunfire.
FOX News Radio's Ron Flatter reports:
A man suspected of two carjackings yesterday (Thursday) led police on a slow-speed chase in Los Angeles, ending at a gas station where police fired about a dozen shots, killing the suspect.
(Smith) "He pulled out his revolver and pointed it at people inside of the store. The officers fired their rounds and the suspect expired at the scene."
LA Police Commander Andy Smith.
Officers say the first carjacking happened more than 60 miles east in San Bernardino. The second in LA.
The hour-long police chase was tracked by TV news helicopters, sometimes showing the suspect slowing down to talk to pedestrians.
The climactic shooting happened only a few feet from a man who was pumping gas.
