Supreme Court to Hear College Affirmative Action Case
Can affirmative action be discrimination? The supreme court will again consider the issue of race as a factor in university admissions.

A 2003 Supreme Court ruling upheld using race as a factor in university admissions to help ensure campus diversity.
Now the Justices are being asked to overturn that ruling, and outlaw affirmative action at colleges.
The court agreeing to hear the case of a white student denied a spot at the University of Texas.
A Federal appeals court upheld the university’s admissions policy.
Arguments at the High Court are set for the fall.
