CDC: Americans Eat Too Much Sodium, Sources Will Surprise You
The CDC says you’re likely eating way too much sodium. But would you believe the problem isn’t in that little shaker on your table, but in foods like breads and rolls, lunch meat, cheeseburgers and pasta?
FOX News Radio’s Eben Brown reports:
The Centers for Disease Control & Prevention say nine out of 10 American adults has too high an amount of sodium in their diet, and that it’s likely coming from food you didn’t even think could be an issue.
(Frieden) “They may be surprised to find out that their breakfast cereal contains the equivalent of eight or 10 shakes of salt in it.”
…Dr. Thomas Frieden is the head of the CDC. It’s no secret that high sodium can lead to heart disease and high blood pressure, but Frieden says those maladies cost the health care system $273 billion a year.
