Housecall for Health: Scratching That Itch To Scratch

It’s not what, it’s where.  A new study shows that no matter what causes you to itch, certain parts of the body feel better when scratched than others.

FOX’s Colleen Cappon has details in today’s “Housecall for Health”:

Whether you call it “itching a scratch” or “scratching an itch,” there is no denying the feeling of satisfaction.  A study published in the British Journal of Dermatology says that where you’re digging your nails in makes a difference in how good it feels.

They found the best places were the ankle and the back, and the least relief came from scratching the forearm.

The study could lead to answers for people who have skin diseases like eczema and psoriasis.
