Iran Bans Barbie

Barbie has been banned in Iran and dozens of toy shops selling the doll have been closed down.

FOX News Radio’s Emily Wither reports from Jerusalem:

(Music) It’s all part of a decades-long crackdown on Western culture in Iran.  A local news agency reporting this time the target is America’s favorite busty-blonde doll, Barbie.  Police confiscating the doll from toy shops in the capital, Tehran.  A Barbie ban wearing swimsuits and mini-skirts in a country where young women are forced to cover up, was imposed in the mid-1990’s.  Iran has its own dolls; twins Dara and Sara who promote traditional values, but they’ve not managed to steal Barbie’s crown, or her boyfriend Ken.
