AEHQ: Why You Shouldn’t Always Believe Polls
As the first race of the 2012 Presidential campaign draws near, we’re being flooded with Presidential polls. But one expert says you can ignore most of them.
FOX News Radio’s Rich Johnson explains why from America’s Election Headquarters in Washington:
From America’s Election Headquarters…
(Sabato) “Throw away the national polls. They’re worthless.”
…University of Virginia Political Science professor Larry Sabato on why we should ignore many of the stories about changing – or even conflicting – poll results, and the ever-changing story about who’s hot and who’s not.
(Sabato) “Most people are not following politics as intently as the people in Iowa or New Hampshire are, for example, because the campaign’s right there.”
Sabato reminds us that four years ago, national polls gave Rudy Guiliani and Hillary Clinton huge leads at this time, and he says if they’re not taking polls in your state just yet, there’s a reason.
(Sabato) “The match-up will be totally different. Some of the candidates won’t even be in the race, and the results of Iowa, and New Hampshire, and South Carolina and Florida will be factored into their thinking.”
