iPatent: Apple Patent Victory Slams Android
The intense battle to control the smartphone market is becoming a little more one-sided after Apple’s bid to cull competition of the iPhone picked up a big victory against a major Android user.
FOX News Radio’s Bill Vitka has details:
Apple won a legal victory when the U.S. International Trade Commission ruled that some HTC smartphones that use Android software infringe an Apple patent.
HTC is one of the world’s largest makers of smartphones running the Android system. It was ordered to stop selling the phones in the U.S. by April. It was clear how many HTC smartphones use the infringing technology.
But the decision could potentially affect far more phones than those made by HTC because the underlying target of the lawsuit is Google, which created the Android.
