CoverGirl Cover Up
The make up company CoverGirl withdraws an ad featuring Taylor Swift after it’s revealed it was re-touched.
FOX Business Network’s Dennis Kneale reports:
CoverGirl just got caught in a cover up. And the rest of the cosmetics industry should worry about it. Proctor & Gamble’s CoverGirl line of mascara withdraws an ad featuring Taylor Swift after an influential ad regulator smacks the company for using re-touching techniques on the singer’s eyelashes. The N.A.D. that is the National Advertising Division of the Better Business Bureau warning that this new crackdown on photoshop and other special effects could spread beyond P&G to other advertisers. You can bet P&G will be its competitors very closely.
