America’s Health Report Card

The annual list of America’s most and least healthy states is out.  Where does your state rank?  And what’s the one problem all 50 states seem to have in common?

FOX News Radio’s Chris Foster has more:

For the third year in a row, Vermont is the healthiest state according to “America’s Health Rankings,” from the United Health Foundation.  Mississippi: the worst state for the tenth year in a row; based on 23 factors including violent crime, obesity, drinking, and smoking rates.

Dr. Randall: “This year is the first time that all 50 states have more than 20% of their population obese.”

Doctor Rhonda Randall with United Healthcare.

Dr. Randall: “Smoking has been the number one cause of preventable illness in the United States and it is very likely that obesity will overtake it.”

This survey finds no overall improvement in America’s health from last year compared to small gains recently and big ones since the 90’s.
