IN School Bus Driver Charged With Driving Full Bus Drunk
Indiana high school students and teachers step up to stop a school bus driver, now charged with operating the loaded bus while loaded herself.
FOX News Radio’s Chris Hoenig has the story:
Teresa Mast was driving a bus of Kokomo High School athletes Saturday morning when they began texting their parents: the 56-year-old was driving erratically. A coach forced Mast to pull over and transfer the kids to another bus, but Kokomo-Center Schools spokesman David Barnes says Mast got right back on the road.
(Barnes) “We tried to contact the driver to stay there, we failed in those attempts. They did not respond.”
Mast was finally stopped at a gas station. Tests revealed her blood alcohol level to be .20, more than twice the legal limit. She’s charged with driving with intoxicated. The district has put Mast on unpaid leave, pending a recommendation she be fired.
