For Sale: Green Bay Packers Selling Shares of Team

Ever want to own a pro sports team, but you don’t have a couple hundred million bucks laying around?  Well, here’s your chance.

FOX News Radio’s Chris Hoenig explains:

The Green Bay Packers are America’s only non-profit, publicly-owned pro sports team, and starting Tuesday, you can buy in.

(Murphy) “A lot of people would love to say they’re owners of a world championship football team.”

…Packers President Mark Murphy.  The team is selling shares of $250 stock to fund an expansion of their home stadium, Lambeau Field.  New owners won’t see a dividend or have to worry about fluctuating stock prices, but they will join the 112,000 other shareholders who get to call themselves an owner of the storied franchise.  This is just the 5th time shares of the team are being sold since its inception in 1923.
