Social Security Gets A Boost

Starting next year, Social Security checks will get a little fatter.

FOX News Radio’s Mike Majchrowitz reports from the White House:

For two years there were no automatic cost of living increases for Social Security as inflation remained relatively tame.  But in 2012 checks will be going up, three point six percent.  That’s an average increase of $39 dollars a month; about $467 dollars for the year.  But that may not end up being spending money.  Next week, new Medicare Part B premiums are being announced.  They’re expected to go up and they are deducted from Social Security checks.
