Housecall For Health: Women & Menopause

Women who are worried about reaching menopause early might not need to fret.  It could have health benefits.

FOX News Radio’s Marghiee Teshineh reports in today’s “Housecall For Health”:

Women who exercise often and eat a heart-healthy diet may reach menopause sooner.  The Japanese study did not establish a direct link.  But, the finding could be important for family planning and for cancer prevention.  Physical activity lowers estrogen levels, and high estrogen levels are tied to breast tumors.  But early menopause is tied to a lower risk of breast cancer.  Menopause usually happens between the ages of 41 and 55.
