Housecall For Health: Tuberculosis Decline

It appears some progress is being made in the fight against one of the most dreaded diseases in the world.

FOX News Radio’s Hank Weinbloom reports on the Tuberculosis decline in today’s “Housecall For Health”:

It killed one point eight million people in 2003.  Tuberculosis.  In fact, one third of the world’s population is infected with the TB bacteria.  Though most have no symptoms.  But according to the World Health Organization, the number of people who got sick with tuberculosis fell last year for the first time ever, due in part to more determined efforts to fight the disease in the developing world.  But despite the improvement, there were one point four million TB deaths last year.
