Sit up straight, cell phone users: your texting habits may be causing you unnecessary pain.

FOX News Radio’s Hank Weinbloom has details in today’s “Housecall for Health”:

A new condition called “Text Neck” is on the rise in the U.K., and health professionals are blaming the increased popularity of mobile devices.

All of that time spent hunched over your smart phone or tablet device adds up.  Flexing the neck muscles for long periods of time causes strain and can lead to permanent arthritic damage or even trouble straightening the neck if left untreated. 

Some helpful tips to remedy “Text Neck”: stretch out, sit up and take a break from that phone.
