Fall Foliage: Clues to Global Warming?

The rainbow of colors produced during the fall foliage period in places like New England, normally brings in many tourist dollars from nature lovers looking to observe the turning of the leaves.  But that could all be changing as climate conditions shift.

FOX News Radio’s Marga Bessette reports from Manchester, New Hampshire:

Fall foliage is the latest focus for some scientists trying to measure global warming.  A new study suggests that trees are changing colors later each year.  Jim Salge, Foliage Blogger for Yankee Magazine says it’s mother nature and she’s unpredictable.

“Each year’s really just a toss up.”

     Not to mention subjective.

”One person’s peak might be another person’s past peak. It’s just when you feel that the majority of the trees have reached the pinnacle of color.”

Whatever the time frame, one sentiment is clear.

     “I think it’s still a beautiful show.”
