FOX on Tech: Kindle Fire Looks to Put the Heat on Apple’s iPad

Amazon wants to take a bite out of Apple, introducing a new tablet computer.

FOX News Radio’s Dave Anthony has details in this “FOX on Tech”:

It’s Amazon’s answer to the iPad…

“It’s called ‘Kindle Fire.'”

A tablet computer that’s a lot cheaper: $200 compared to $500.

“Seven inch IPS display, it’s light, easy to hold in one hand.”

Not just to download and read books, CEO Jeff Bezos says Kindle Fire will have…

“Amazon Instant Video, our mp3 store and the app store for Android.”

One analyst calls it a “trojan horse,” to get users to buy more stuff off Amazon.  Tech experts seem to agree it’ll compete with the iPad to a degree, but really put the squeeze on Barnes & Noble’s Nook and other tablet computer makers.
