Housecall for Health: Vaccine Concerns

Are vaccinations a thing of the past?  One state is seeing an unwelcomed trend among students.

FOX’s Colleen Cappon reports in today’s “Housecall for Health”:

California state health officials are alarmed at how many children are attending school without vaccinations.

Because of parents forgoing vaccines – which is legal in California – more than 11,000 kindergartners went without them in 2010, the highest rate in state history.  Experts fear that the trend could cause an outbreak of whooping cough or measles, among others.  And say children who are not vaccinated are susceptible to serious illness, and also present a danger to children who do have their shots.
